Procraftinator...

Well, it seems like we have been SUPER busy the last few weeks, so I am just now getting around to posting some cute Vday items.  Better late than never, I suppose.  My little jellybeans and I made their Vday boxes for their school parties.  Bray made a locker, and Ava made a love bug.  Click on "READ MORE" below to see the step by step tutorial (with pictures) for Ava's love bug mailbox...

Here's the tutorial to make a "love bug" mailbox!

You will need....

             ~ Mailbox
~Eyes
               ~ Glue
~ Scissors
             ~ Tape
  ~ Black Glitter
    ~ Black paper
~ Red Paper
        ~ Stickers
~ Black Pipe Cleaners

First, cover your mailbox with black construction paper ( I use tacky glue).

Next, you will cut red wings out and glue them on (notice that the bottom of the "wings" are curved).  Leave a small space by making a slight "V" in the middle of the top.

Cut out 3 different sized heart shapes.  I cut 4 big, 4 medium, and 8 small hearts.  I used my Silhouette to make things quicker, but you can cut by hand if needed.  After you have the hearts cut out, brush on a clear drying glue, then sprinkle with black glitter.

Glue on your hearts in whatever pattern you like.

Curl your pipe cleaners on one end around a pencil 2 full times, then loosen to set the shape.

Cut out a circle for the face.  Next, glue on the antenna's and eyes.

Cut out a pair of lips (once again, I cheated and used my Silhouette).  I added some sparkle to them by brushing with red glitter.  Add your child's name with the stickers under the face, and voile....you're done!!!
